Deborah Wilson David is the Deputy Head, and Director of Teaching and Learning, of the School of English and Journalism at the University of Lincoln, UK. She teaches broadcast journalism, with research interests in BBC local radio, media coverage of the EU and transatlantic influences in broadcasting.
Deborah was appointed specifically to set up Lincoln’s journalism programme, which is now accredited by all relevant UK professional bodies and has been nationally recognised for its innovative curriculum. She is the Vice President of the European Journalism Training Association and was the first Chair of the US-based Broadcast Education Association’s International Division.
Formerly with the BBC, Deborah still produces factual radio, winning four RTDNA (International Region) awards in the last five years, and is an experienced national radio awards judge. She is a regular speaker at international conferences and a guest lecturer at several academic institutions in Europe and the USA.
