Citizens for Financial Justice

The “Citizens for Financial Justice” (C4FF) programme, implemented by the Advanced Media Institute, focuses on Greece and Cyprus, two countries that were affected by the debt crisis disproportionately in relation to their size. Among other things, the programme aims to highlight public and private debt as an eminently antidemocratic agent of servitude and inequality. Within this framework scientific research, popularized media, dialogue workshops and short documentaries will be used. The results will be communicated in the two countries and abroad, addressing the younger generation and social groups
affected by the crisis. In parallel, collaboration networks with other international organizations will be built, always in cooperation with the stakeholder of the DEAR programme, including Eurodad.

The basic aim of C4FF is to promote the Millenium Goals of the United Nations to tackle poverty, as well as to highlight and advance alternative solutions for the management of public and private debt with respect for human rights, such as its full or partial write-off, a proposal that has been gaining significant proponents throughout the world.

Participation by students of AMI, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Open University of Cyprus enhances the venture, and the results will be incorporated in the educational processes of the above institutions, thus constituting a knowledge base of critical importance.
