
Deborah Wilson David is the Head of the Department of Journalism and Media at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. She teaches broadcast journalism, with research interests in BBC local radio, media coverage of the EU and transatlantic influences in broadcasting.
Deborah was appointed specifically to set up Lincoln’s journalism programme, which is now accredited by all relevant UK professional bodies and has been nationally recognised for its innovative curriculum. She was the Vice President of the European Journalism Training Association (2013-2019) and was the first Chair of the US-based Broadcast Education Association’s International Division.
Formerly with the BBC, Deborah still produces factual radio, winning five RTDNA (International Region) awards in the last seven years, and is an experienced national radio awards judge. She is a regular speaker at international conferences and a guest lecturer at several academic institutions in Europe and the USA.
