Marie Lavrentiadou is Associate Lecturer at the Department of Greek Civilization Studies of the Hellenic Open University. She has a PhD in Urbanism and Regional Planning (Paris X-Nanterre). She has also taken over academic posts at the University of Aegean (2003-2005) in Lesvos and at Panteion University in Athens (2009-2014). Her fields of expertise and current research interests include the areas of Greek diaspora and the area of social integration of migrants and refugees in the urban place. She has presented research papers to international and national conferences and she has published two books and many articles in journals and conference proceedings.
