
Nikos Michalitsis is the founder and CEO of communication and advertising agency Hop On Communications.
He has a long presence in the fields of communication, having recorded an approximately 20-years presence in managerial positions at Media, Advertising Companies, Media Shops and having managed many multinational and Greek customers, winning numerous awards at advertising festivals.
He was also being involved in political communication, since he was communications advisor and head of election campaigns for Prefects, Mayors and other political figures. During 2004-2007 he served as Special Communication Advisor to the Greek Deputy Minister of Education.
His active participation at the local government as an elected city councilor at the city of Piraeus between 1999-2006 and his involvement in the areas of education, culture and international relations, offered him the experience and knowledge about the city’s image management, a field which he has since then been trying to develop, by expanding his research, scientific and business interests in developing and implementing strategies and promotional programs for cities, regions and states.
He holds, a Master Degree of the Graduate Program Communication – New Journalism from the Open University of Cyprus (2016) (Subject of Thesis submitted: ” Re-branding Greece. Critical evaluation of Nation Branding model in the process of repositioning the image of Greece”, a Bachelor Degree in Greek Culture Studies (2011) from the same university and a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1992).
He attended postgraduate courses and seminars on Marketing, Management, Communication and International Relations, Computer Science and Strategic Planning, workshops, conferences etc. scientific events in Greece and abroad as a speaker or participant.
He served his military service in the Greek Navy, at NATO’s Standing Naval Force of Mediterranean (STANAVFORMED). He was awarded a medal by the Ministry of Defence, for his participation in peacekeeping missions abroad.
He speaks Greek, English and French.
He is married and father of three children.
This time among his business obligations, he works on his first literary effort, along with the preparation of the submission of the proposal for his doctoral thesis.
