Toward realizing the Institute’s vision to become a model International Research Centre regarded for in-depth production and dissemination of scientific knowledge in Modern Communication and the New Journalism of the 21st century, the Institute aims at the following:
Objectives
Designs, implements and participates in national, European and international original (primary) and applied research in all fields of Communication and Journalism.
Produces new research tools focused on developing new theories and on checking existing ones.
Supports the operation of an active and creative scientific community.
Participates in the dissemination of scientific knowledge by organizing seminars and conferences, presentations at international conferences, publications in books and scientific journals
Organizes briefings with representatives of institutional bodies, in the framework of disseminating new knowledge, stances and behaviours. Such briefings are highly specialized and focused.
Participates in open days, publishes occasional papers and independent e-publications, collective volumes and monographs on state-of-the-art subjects for the fields of Communication and new Journalism.
Promotes cross-cultural and inter-disciplinary research, fostering the function of Cyprus as a research centre for the Eastern Mediterranean
Goals
Contribute to the production of original and applied research in the fields of Communication and New Journalism.
Provide specialized high-level, ad hoc training with the introduction and use of innovative tools and new techniques.
Contribute to the broader dialogue on the relationship between new technologies and the creation of an open information platform for general or specialized audiences on topics such as new technologies, the Media and Communication and New Journalism.
Contribute to the continuous development of educational material through modern applications.
